Plug Your Favorite Song Into This Generator For a Handy Guide to Washing Your Hands

It goes without saying that you should always be washing your hands, regardless of what health concerns are floating around in the world. However, with the prevalence of the coronavirus (COVID-19), it's more important than ever to wash your hands extra thoroughly. You should be washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and if you're bored of singing "Happy Birthday" (twice!) every time you're at the sink, a UK teen developed a site that generates handwashing instructions set to whatever song you want.

When you go to WashYourLyrics.com, you can put in the name of the song and artist of your choice, and the site will give you a poster of instructions paired with lyrics you can sing — whether in your head or out loud, it's up to you — to help pass the time. We plugged in Harry Styles's monster hit "Adore You," and look how fun and easy it now can be to wash your hands!

The instructions are pulled straight from the NHS hand-washing instructions, which are actually a bit more detailed than those from the Centers For Disease Control. And while the lyrics are automatically pulled from Genius, which means they're always the beginning of the song, there's nothing wrong with going straight into the chorus of a song you know well.

Print out these sing-along posters and hang them around campus, in your home, or in the office, where they'll serve as a reminder for everyone to take the proper precautions during this outbreak and long after it ends.
