Best Hydrating Moisturizer
SkinMedica HA 5 Hydra Collagen Replenish and Restore Hydrator ($192)
"In the summer months I spend most of my time at the beach, and although I make sure to moisturize before and after, wear plenty of SPF, and even a hat, my skin still takes a beating. I try to keep my face out of the sun as much as possible, but for the most part I rely on good skin-care products to help my skin out. The SkinMedica HA 5 Hydra Collagen Replenish and Restore Hydrator has been an absolute lifesaver, especially after long days at the beach. It's lightweight, made with five different forms of hyaluronic acid, plus avocado oil, passion fruit seed oil, and vitamin F." — Renee Rodriguez, staff writer and social producer
Best Pre-Styling Cream
Straight to Wavy Light Pre-Styling Cream ($60)
"When the Dyson team told me the reason behind developing these new hairstyling products, it immediately made sense. I love my Airwrap, and I think it's one of the most innovative tools on the market. However, I agree with (apparently) many consumers that it can be challenging to get the hairstyles to hold. The formula contains oyster mushrooms, grapeseed, castor, and argan oil, and beeswax to reduce frizz, protect against heat, and boost shine, in addition to helping with hold. The mushrooms within the formula are responsible for the soft and moveable yet structural hold that's designed to make your styles last longer. All I need is a few pumps, and my Airwrap curls last all day. You can read my full review here." — Jessica Harrington, senior beauty editor
Best Cream Blush
Makeup By Mario Soft Pop Plumping Blush Veil ($30)
"Makeup by Mario came out with new shades of its Soft Pop Plumping Blush Veil, and I have been obsessed with the shade Papaya. It's a bright orange shade that may look a little scary in the pan, but the formula is so sheer that it just presents as a wash of color on the skin. It is the perfect 'I've just been out in the sun' shade on my skin tone, and it can be built up if you want a bit more pigment or sheered out even more if you're doing a no-makeup makeup look. It's such a versatile product. — Ariel Baker, former associate editor, beauty
Best Dissolving Cleansing Pads
Olay Face Cleansing Melts ($15)
"Summer means a ton of travel and with that, condensing your beauty products to fit as many TSA regulations as possible. Olay has made this process infinitely easier with the release of the cleansing melts — they're essentially these water-activated pads that dissolve completely when you add moisture to them. When you rub your hands together, they turn into a foamy facial cleanser. This is one of the coolest and most functional beauty products that I've come across in a while and I've already started gifting a few to friends. Everybody needs these whether they're traveling or not." — AB
Best Multi-Styler
T3 Aire 360 Ceramic Air Styler Blowout Kit ($300)
"I've been using ancient hair tools. The paint is chipping off my blow dryer; my curling iron only sometimes turns on. It was definitely time for an upgrade. Enter: T3 Aire 360 Ceramic Air Styler Blowout Kit ($299), which is essentially four hair tools in one. Now, I can rough dry with the concentrator, smooth with the oval brush attachment, and add a few waves with the curling attachments. Best of all, I've made space in my bathroom for more styling products." — Dawn Davis, executive director, beauty
Best Hair Dryer
Dyson Supersonic Nural™ Hair Dryer ($500)
"When I first learned that Dyson was launching a new generation of its Supersonic hair dryer, a tool that I love and use regularly, I was skeptical. I thought: what more could they add? But I was quickly shown a thing or two by the Dyson Nural. This is by far the smartest blow dryer I've ever used. It has a slew of new features, but my all-time favorite is the scalp protect mode, which uses sensors to automatically adjust the temperature to reduce your risk of damaging that sensitive skin on your head. You can read by full review and comparison here." — JH
Best Drugstore Mascara
Covergirl Eye Enhancer Mascara ($8)
"I test mascaras on the reg, but in order for a new one to make it into my routine, it needs to be a show-stopper. The Covergirl Eye Enhancer Mascara is honestly kind of perfect — it doesn't clump, or flake, or leave me with raccoon eyes, but instead, it's the perfect product to enhance my eyes without overdoing it. This one is my go-to for simple makeup looks." — RR
Best Air-Dry Hair Product
IGK Beach Club High-Shine Hair Texture Foam ($32)
"I am — or rather my hair is — quite picky when it comes to styling products. As someone with fine, wavy hair, I'm always looking for things that will help me perfect my air-dry process. All it took was one use to be impressed by the IGK Beach Club High-Shine Hair Texture Foam. The weightless foam enhanced my waves, cutting down on frizz and providing a soft, touchable hold. Since getting my hands on it, I've used it countless times after I wash my hair, but it's also great as a refresh product." — JH
Best Antiaging Serum
SkinCeuticals Cell Cycle Catalyst Anti-Aging Serum ($115)
"SkinCeuticals recently launched the Cell Cycle Catalyst Skin Resurfacing Serum, and it's been a game-changer for my sensitive, acne-prone skin. I apply it in the morning after cleansing to dry skin before using my vitamin C serum. It's helped to keep my skin gently exfoliated without irritating it." — RR
Best Shower Cream
L'Occitane Almond Delicious Shower Cream ($29)
"I'm a huge fan of the L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil — as is nearly every other person I know who's tried it — so when I learned about the new almond shower cream, I had high hopes. No surprise here: it completely blew my mind the first time I used it. It has a whipped, creamy texture that somehow feels lightweight yet thick and luxurious at the same time. And, of course, it's possibly the best thing I've ever had the privilege of smelling with its sweet almond scent." — JH
Best Dry Heat Protectant
Oribe Gold Lust Dry Heat Protective Spray ($46)
"This isn't a fun fact I'd bring to a party or anything, but it is true that for the last decade, I have not blow-dried my hair once without first applying a heat protectant. I've seen firsthand just how much it can protect your ends from damage, and even still, I've always struggled to find the perfect formula (read: a spray instead of cream for easy application, but one that doesn't leave either a gritty or oily residue). Alas, Oribe is changing all that with its Gold Lust Dry Heat Protective Spray. Not only does the super-fine mist allow you to cover more surface area quickly and efficiently, but it also makes your hair look shiny, not greasy." — Kelsey Castañon, senior content director
"As someone who writes about beauty all damn day, I know it's important to put on a heat protectant every time I use hot tools. Do I actually do it? Nope, I don't. Mostly because I only wash my hair once or twice a week, and most heat protectants are wet, and I'm not interested in ruining my blowout. That's why I've been obsessing over the Oribe Gold Lust Dry Heat Protective Spray. I can spritz it on even when my hair is dry. I love the scent, and it even gives my hair a volume boost." — RR
Best Retinol Serum
Mother Science Retinol Synergist ($96)
"I've been using the Mother Science Retinol Synergist for a month now, and my skin is loving it. My complexion looks brighter and more even but I haven't had any issues with irritation or sensitivity. The serum combines two super powerful antiaging ingredients: the brand's exclusive hero ingredient, malassezin, which has wrinkle-reducing and skin barrier-supporting benefits, and tried-and-true retinol for extra skin renewal. The texture is a thin, lightweight formula that absorbs quickly and doesn't feel sticky." — JH
Best Concealer
Saie Slip Tint Radiant All-Over Concealer ($28)
"As someone who doesn't wear foundation, my concealer is very important to me, and I'm picky. The Saie Slip Tint Radiant All-Over Concealer checks all of the boxes for me — it's lightweight, provides light to medium coverage, blends really easily, feels hydrating, and has a glowy finish. (This doesn't really surprise me, given that Saie's beauty philosophy and mine align pretty well.) This concealer will make your skin look smooth and even, all the while making you forget you're wearing it at all." — JH
"I make it a point to try every new concealer I can get my hands on, and I believe that it's helpful to have a concealer 'wardrobe' — one for dark circles, one for hyperpigmentation, one for eyelid redness, etc. But now that I have this new concealer from Saie, my other concealers all seem obsolete. It's hydrating yet doesn't crease and offers just the right amount of buildable coverage. It even makes pores seem to disappear but doesn't have the slippery silicone feeling of other pore-minimizing products. If I only have room for one concealer in my makeup bag, this is the one." — DD

Best Lipstick
Westman Atelier Lip Suede Matte Lipstick ($50)
"I'm not a huge lipstick person, but when I do wear it, I want it to be slightly matte — without sinking into my lip creases. Basically, it needs to stay super smooth and lightweight. The Westman Atelier Lip Suede Matte Lipstick hits the nail on the head. I'm in love with the shade Piqué, which is a perfect '90s pink taupe. These lippies come in the Westman Atelier sturdy (and chic) packaging; these tubes have already rolled off my vanity multiple times without any stick breakage." — Aviel Kanter, director, branded content
Best Scented Body Lotion
Osāna Naturals Peppermint and Cucumber Body Lotion ($7)
"If you're looking for an Aesop alternative — because, let's be real, it's hard to justify spending $43 on hand soap — allow me to introduce you to Osāna Naturals. The brand has a similarly chic aesthetic that I immediately want in every bathroom without skimping on quality, only at a fraction of the cost. My personal favorite is the Osāna Naturals Peppermint and Cucumber Body Lotion, which is loaded with hydrating ingredients like shea butter and coconut oil, but most importantly (to me) smells like you just stepped foot into a fancy spa." — KC
Best Barrier Balm
Kiehl's Ultra Facial Barrier Balm ($31)
"This has been another one of my skin saviors after using too much Tretinoin. Like the original barrier repair balm, it is deeply hydrating but this stick applicator makes it much easier to target certain hard-to-reach areas, like the crevice of my nose, with ease. Big yes." — Ariel Baker, assistant beauty editor
Best Tinted Moisturizer
Kosas BB Burst Tinted Moisturizer Gel Cream ($38)
"Just when I thought my skin was destined to look dull until spring, Kosas came out with this BB cream. It's incredibly moisturizing so it doesn't settle into lines or dry patches, it has a bright, dewy finish, and it contains good-for-your-skin ingredients like zinc and copper peptides. The coverage is pretty light, but it layers beautifully with my favorite concealer. I'm sure I'll still be using it well after the seasons change." — DD
Best Shampoo
Herbal Essences Hemp Oil Sulfate Free Shampoo ($10)
"I remember my mom buying Herbal Essences shampoos for me at the drugstore growing up. Getting to select my desired scent was a decision I didn't take lightly. The brand recently launched a new line centered around plant oils, expanding with 11 shampoo and conditioner pairings formulated with aloe, camellia, or hemp oil. The frizz control shampoo has been amazing for my fine, wavy hair, and it smells so fresh and light." — JH
Best Lip Gloss
Hourglass Phantom Volumizing Glossy Lip Balm ($36)
"Hourglass's Phantom Glossy Balms are my favorite lipstick/gloss hybrid. The brand recently extended the shade range and this new color called Reveal, which is a true pink, has been on rotation over the last few months." — AB
Best Flat Iron
GHD Chronos Styler 1" Flat Iron ($329)
"GHD's original multi-styler is an editor favorite (and a staple in my hairstyling routine), but the tool just got a major upgrade. The new Chronos Styler 1" Flat Iron features the same one-inch, rounded ceramic floating plates that you know and love, but the technology is even better. It's faster and delivers even shinier, long-lasting results." — JH
Best Plumping Gloss
NYX Professional Makeup Duck Plump High Pigment Lip Plumping Gloss ($13)
"NYX 's Duck Plump lipglosses are absolutely stunning. They are a higher-pigment gloss so you can wear them in place of a more traditional lipstick if you'd like, but I've been using them to add a hint more of color to a lip combination when I want it to veer more peach, pink, or neutral, and then topping the entire lip combination with a clear gloss. They do have a pretty strong tingle that lasts for a few minutes but for these colors, I don't mind at all." — AB
Best Bronzing Drops
Pacifica Beauty Sunny Glow Bronzing Drops ($16)
"As someone who religiously wears SPF on my face and never goes outside for long periods without a hat, the Pacifica Beauty Sunny Glow Bronzing Drops are a must. Mixing it with my moisturizer gives my face an even, healthy glow without looking orange or sparkly. The look it gives you is completely customizable, depending on how many drops you add." — JH
Best Bond Treatment
Nexxus Intense Bonding Treatment ($15)
"Healthy hair is the goal for 2024, and the Nexxus Intense Bonding Treatment makes it easy to achieve. It's formulated with the brand's bond-building technology, which contains five amino acids and keratin protein, to repair hair from the inside out, making it look and feel better than ever. You simply apply it on damp hair, let it sit for three minutes, and style as usual." — JH
Best Hand Cream
Vaseline Radiant X Deep Nourishment Hand Butter ($6)
"I am extremely particular about my hand lotions because I don't like the feeling of greasy hands. The Vaseline Radiant XDeep Nourishment Hand Butter is not only deeply nourishing, but the most important part is that it doesn't leave any residue behind. I've been carrying this in every purse it can fit in over the last few weeks because I refuse to be without it." — AB
Best Leave-In Conditioner For Curls
Shea Moisture Bond Repair Leave-In Conditioner ($14)
"The SheaMoisture Bond Repair Leave-In Conditioner, formulated with the brand's new four-step bond repair system, contains deeply hydrating amla oil, shea butter, and a blend of amino acids. It nourishes, protects against breakage, and repairs existing damage in curly and coily hair types." — JH
